Movie
The Plea ( ვედრება), Tengiz Abuladze, 1967
I know some trilogies in cinema, but two are always the first to occur in my mind: one, from Tengiz Abuladze with The Plea, The Tree of Desire and Repetance; the other one, is from another "huge" movie director, Masaki Kobayashi, The Human Condition (人間の條件 Ningen no jōken)
The trilogy of Abuladze is about the fate and the dialogue between evil and good, like a cosmic conscience. The trilogy of Kobayashi is a lesson of humanism and the breath of peace in the conscience of a man during the war. Both show the human being struggling with profound shadows, trying to have a voice in a totalitarian world.
José
I hate you – I love you
I hate you for your weakness,
your strong arm and tearful face
and your dark, black destiny,
why always shrouded in black?
Spurning friends, not seeing foes,
yielding to your destroyer,
languidly awaiting Fate,
pockets empty, mind still closed.
